Dublin, Ireland via Josh

Yesterday Josh and his coworkers were in Dublin, Ireland to visit the company office. I'm loving the European architecture. Aren't the colors amazing? Plenty of history with a touchy of whimsy.

Just a few more days till he's home. I can't wait.

An Instagram Kind of Week

I've done more in nine days than I have in five months. Phew!
It's been lovely but it will be even lovelier when Josh is home.

Sending my love to all those who are remembering someone who has gone on. Blessed Memorial Day.

Josh's Real Life Storybook Land

Josh and his co-workers took a mini jaunt to Edinburgh this weekend. They are known for their castles and quaint towns. His description? "It's like the Storybook ride at Disneyland." =)
Apparently quite tasty
 Night on the town
Just strolling the streets, you turn a corner and *BAM* hello really old castle! It's like the Magic Castle in LA but bigger, older, and well, REAL. I don't suppose this castle has valet parking...
Josh toured this church and it's underground. Uh, foreboding and scary anyone? I wonder if he saw any gargoyles?
That's it for now. I hope you too are exploring in your own way this Memorial day weekend. Be safe everyone!

Back to School

It's that time of year again - when teachers are (hopefully) working overtime to prepare for Back to School. Since I'm in town Aimee and I went to visit mom before hers last night. She always has the best projects and units going on and always goes big for the parents. She didn't disappoint. =) This year her focus was on insects.

This is a sample of each kid's desk. Their reports, a "self-published" book on butterflies, a review of the class. And then your typical 1st grade stuff - a life sized skunk, a ginormous moth, and ladybug wings. Just the bare necessities for life and proper insect lessons!

In case you couldn't see inside the beehive here's a closer look. I think these kids know more than me about insects.

Even a lifesized tree with a non-lifesized chrysalis in the middle of the room. =)

No frontier left untouched = a lesson on cross pollination

Of course, a humongous dung beetle on the carpet. Of course.

And one kid's joke that the whole class loved.
I don't know how she has the energy to do it. I mean, it's like walking into another world in there! No wonder her kids like coming to school. Cool beans mom.

And P.S. Will you save all that teaching amazingness for my kids one day?

Photos from Glasgow

Josh is enjoying his time in Scotland. Of course, how can you not when everything is paid for. :p Despite his tumultuous arrival (United bumped him to coach *gasp! and then lost his luggage) he has had a great time working, exploring the city with his co-workers, and learning about the culture in the UK.

I promised some pictures if he sent some and here they are. Isn't the architecture in the city beautiful?

PT Served with a Side of Hope

Now that the anniversary celebration has come to a close (I know I said I could celebrate all week but even I'm a little sick of my own mushy gushyness - ha) I have time to tell you about my physical therapy appointment last Saturday. It was wonderful. Full of information, advice, stretches, (and of course) a few tears (from me guys, not Josh :p).
After Dr. Ana caught up on our last five months and reviewed my MRI, she did a few tests on me and I could actually do them, sort of! She identified my areas of pain beyond my lower back and explained which pain was okay to push and which I shouldn't. She gave me certain stretches to do everyday and sent me on my way with promises of being able to run again. I couldn't help it, a tear slipped out when she so confidently said I should be sitting, driving, running, working again soon. I mean in that moment, for the first time in a long time, I was filled with hope.

The feeling of hope is amazing. Thank you thank you thank you Jesus.
