If you know my mother, you know that she and the ER have a close relationship. She probably goes and visits him once a month or so in search of some antibiotics or such. Recently she came to the conclusion that it is much easier to pay the $50 ER fee and to immediately receive all the necessary testing she desires, than to wait to schedule an appointment with her doc, who then schedules another appointment for the tests.
Monday night, while celebrating Father's Day she promptly informed us she would be heading to the ER after dinner to get some tests. Of course, this annoucement didn't send us into shock or fear. In fact, it barely phased us.
The depths of her mind know no boundaries, nor does her level of determination when she sets her mind to something. So unconventional and oddly enough, so impressive.

A Tidbit about NK
Since reading the net news about our recent troubles with NK I have been thinking endlessly about the possibilities of an attack from those crazy asians. Do not fear though, my wonderful friend (friend indeed) Shin laid my fears to rest with this text:
"Even if NK could successfully launch it, we would shoot it down. Not to be at the top of J's list of things to worry about."

The Beginnings of Summer...
The start of summer began with a bang, and a few graduations along with it.
congrats to my favorite youngest miyabe cuz. He is something special.

Looking forward to the Mississippi Clan, camp, the annual Uyeda fishing trip, spending time with the tangs, and vaca with my one and only favorite travel necessity. o, summer o summer, i heart thee.

Congrats Kylie!
Today Kylie graduated from High School. =)
I've been to my share of graduations and I must say this one was the best I've been to - The two soloists were amazing, the transitions smooth, the venue perfect (great seats and temp controlled), and the most important part...the speech was incredible. I actually teared.
Kylie looked beautiful...these are only half of the lei's that she was given. :) She is quite loved.

Going on 9.
This past weekend Josh and I trekked up to the Venice Spring Retreat. After a sickening bout of car sickness we made it to one of the most gorgeous cabins I have ever seen. Some of the memories:

I wish we could have stayed for the whole weekend, but we feel blessed with the time we were able to go. There is a special feel with this group of youth; they love to have fun, they're gentle, easily amused, and love God. I know God is forming and shaping them into something beautiful.

Florida
This past weekend mom, Carol, A, and I packed up and headed to Florida for yet another family wedding. It was quite the whirlwind weekend. Florida is beautiful. The sand is so white and so fine, the people so relaxed, the mood so slow, and the houses so amazing.
It was great to see family too. It's funny how you never really keep in touch with relatives, but because you're family there's an immediate bond when you see one another. It was great catching up and celebrating with Luke and Amanda on their nuptials.
